Engine driven welders do not just need to be easy to use and able to produce quality results. They must also be durable, versatile, energy efficient, and reasonably priced. Since our founding in 1948, Denyo has continued to create engine welding machines and engine generators that meet all of these demands. Denyo products are used not only in construction and manufacturing, but also for heavy industries like oil & gas, and mining work sites. Denyo offers excellent performance and ruggedness unique to Japanese products and has a track record of being used in extremely cold wilderness and extremely hot desert. We, at Denyo, are always with you, helping you perform your finest work.

QUESTION
-
How do I select the engine welder capacity?
As a general guideline, in the case of the shielded arc welding rod, select 40A per φ1mm for soft steel rod and select 50A perφ1mm for high tension steel rod.
This is just a rough standard, and the instruction provided by the welding rod supplier should be followed to select the right welding capacity. -
What is the difference between the Constant Current characteristic (CC) and the Drooping characteristic (Droop)?
CC: There is no current fluctuation while welding with the arc voltage fluctuation.
Droop: There is a decrease or increase in welding current dependent on welding output voltage fluctuation.
An operator can adjust the quality of the bead (width and depth) and can change the finish by adjusting heat input with welding rod manipulation. -
What is the SmartStick (Idle Stop Device)?
SmartStick is a device that automatically stops the engine within 1 to 30 minutes (adjustable) and restarts the engine when striking the base material with the welding rod twice. SmartStick allows you to start and stop the engine remotely, so you can work more efficiently, and it also reduces fuel consumption, noise, and CO2 emissions.
-
Can I use a long and thin welding cable?
If a long and thin cable is used, arc breaking is more likely to occur due to the large voltage drop in the cable. Additionally, the use of a long, thin cable will increase fuel consumption due to the power loss following the voltage drop.
Therefore, it's important to use shorter, thicker cable for arc stability and fuel economy. -
What should I do if using the TIG welder (not engine-driven type) where there is no grid power?
Normally, an engine-driven generator would be provided, but an engine-driven welder alone is also fine. Some Denyo engine-driven welders have a large capacity of AC power, so they can be used like an engine-driven generator if used connected to a TIG welder.
For example, at the site of pipeline welding, when welding the pipe with TIG welding for first layer and welding it with shielded metal arc welding (STICK) for the second layer and onwards, you just need to bring a welder generator. The welding machine can be used as stick welder and a power source for TIG welding unit also.
*Please make sure to select the TIG welding unit which will correspond to the capacity of the AC power of an engine-driven welder. -
Can Denyo welders perform flux-cored arc welding(FCAW)?
Denyo offers welders, like the DLW-500ISW, that have constant voltage characteristics in addition to constant current characteristics and drooping characteristics. Therefore, flux-cored arc welding (Wire-Feeder) options are also possible.
